Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) is more than just a preparation for primary school. It lays the foundation for a child’s learning and overall development. ECCE results in fewer children spending their primary years in Special Education. By addressing a child's need early on, they will better develop and maintain the necessary skills and information to assist them in their potential success. This aims at the holistic development of the social, mental, cognitive and physical needs of the child in order to build a strong and comprehensive base for lifelong learning and well-being. The first six to eight years of life are critical since the rate of development in these years is more rapid than at any other stage in an individual’s life. Such early interactions are primarily influenced by promoting family and community care services, adequate nutrition and health care, learning opportunities, which in turn rely on empowering young children and families policies and investments. Early Childhood Education positively impacts attendance, retention, and learning of children in elementary and higher education. The brain begins responding to new learning experiences after 3. Language, vision and emotions keep on developing. At this level, diverse skills such as drawing, playing an instrument, taking up a sport etc. are also easy to learn. All this playing, socializing and engaging helps the kids a lot when they reach school.
